Ugly Betty is an American comedy-drama telly series created by Silvio Horta, which premiered on ABC on September 28, 2006. The serials revolves about Betty Suarez, an unglamorous and placid girl, and her incompatible job at the ultra-chic New York City fashion magazine Mode.
The conventional role and main champion of the picture is Betty Suarez (America Ferrera), a recent college higher expecting to arise into the publishing business. The show also powerfully centers on her boss Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius), a rich man-about-town who is given the office of editor-in-chief of Mode by his beginner, the magazine's possessor. The show's main resister is Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams), Mode's creative director, who constantly outlines to usurp Daniel's position at Mode and take over the his family's printing empire.

Betty's co-workers at Mode take Marc St. James (Michael Urie), Wilhelmina's openly queer and ferociously loyal private assistant; Amanda Sommers (Becki Newton), the attractive and vacuous receptionist who is Marc's best friend, Betty's frenemy, and Daniel's prehistoric lover; Christina McKinney (Ashley Jensen), a needlewoman who goes Betty's best friend on her first day of work; and Henry Grubstick (Christopher Gorham), a nerdy controller who is Betty's love concern in seasons one and two. The Meade family consists of father Bradford (Alan Dale), a distant man with a account of infidelity; mother Claire (Judith Light), an alcoholic who serves as a mother figure for Betty and a rival for Wilhelmina; and older sister Alexis (Rebecca Romijn), a virile to female homosexual who has a argumentative relationship her father and brother. Bradford exits the show during its second season; both Christina and Alexis leave during the third flavour.
