Would you take Bucky Covington's advice and spank your kids with a belt?
My gf and I heard that Bucky Covington song on the car radio with the line that goes "We got Daddy's belt when we misbehaved." Afterwards, she asked me if I ever had kids, would I spank them with a belt if they misbehaved. Well, I usually wear a heavy duty Carhart work belt, so I said hell no, that would be out of line. After that, she got upset and said that a father had to be the disciplinarian in the family and that kids today needed authority if they stepped out of line and that her and her brothers and sisters all got the belt and there was nothing wrong with that. We've only been dating for a few months and we've never even talked about marriage or kids and now I'm in the doghouse because of a honest answer to a question about a stupid song. What should I do?
Well it's not like your going to have babies tomorrow so why is she getting all bent out of shape on one little disagreement? I think that belts are fine if the "crime" in tails. If it just something little a hand will do. I hate it when people say it's abuse, it's teaching your kid some respect and how to stay in line. I just depends on the situation.
