Personal picks for cast of Harry Potter?
I have always imagined Paul McGann whenever I think of Lupin. I think Peter O'Toole would have been a better Dumbledore replacement then Gambon. I never liked Oldman for Black, but can't think of anyone who would be ideal for the role. I love Ciaran Hinds, but Aberforth?
Does anybody else have any actors they think would be a better fit for Harry Potter roles? Would they fit Rowling's British only criteria? Who would you pick for Sirius Black?
The ONLY casting problem I have with the films is Dumbledore. I mean there are plenty of characters who don't look the way they are supposed to according to the novels but I didn't really like either actor who played Dumbledore.
They both took the role a little too seriously for me....I know Dumbledore is the man and it is a serious role but you know how Ron always says that Dumbledore is 'mental'. LOL I think he should be a little more eccentric and bent. But the only person I could think of to play him would be Ian McKellen which my friends vehemently disagree with for some reason either b/c they think he WOULDN"T be good for the part or they just don't think it's ok for him to play Dumbledore after playing characters such as Gandalf and Magneto.....but that's my thoughts
