How much is my Zippo lighter worth?
Both the case and the lighter insert are marked with a "J" and the number "03"
The case is matte black, with the design laser etched on, revealing (what appears to be) brass underneath.
It can be found in the following article from Fender (which erronously reports that 2000 were made, but it clearly says on the lighter, 82 of 1000);

(Also, the report is from Fender Australia, but I purchased mine in a guitar store in the U.K.)
The design is the commemorative Stratocaster 50th anniversary logo, which reads;
STRATOCASTER
Fender 50 (Guitar design)
ANNIVERSARY
1954 - 2004
Also etched, in the bottom right corner, underneath the design, are the figures;
82 of 1000
The lighter is unboxed and used, although is in excellent condition.
try taking it to a pawn shop or specialty store. they can tell you the best price, or put it on eBay with a starting price of like 100 dollars and see how high it goes, then take it off before it ends, to get an idea of how high it might go...
