cons and pros on thses bikes.?
im thinking about getting a newer or diffrent bike. curently i have a 01 rm125(heavelymodded).i ride trails mosly. i want a newer bike. 06 and up. and im wondering if i should get a newer 125 2-stroke. or get a 250f. im not worred about cost fixing a 2-stroke caz i figured that all out. but im wondering howmuch money i should no i might have to be putting in a 4-stroke. im only trail rideing so put that in mind for how long stuff will last and what i should change at a time.
if i get a 2 stroke its going to be a yz125 06 or rm125 06
if i get a 4 it will be a yzf250f, rmz-250, kx250f.
plz tell me to you best of my questions and pros and cons of those bikes. including 2 strokes
4 strokes are great for low end work out on trails but are more complex to repair - engine wise.
I used to have a Suzuki RM250E several years ago and it did whatever I asked it to do.My riding style may have been a bit more towards MX than yours though. In the old days a great machine for thumping along on trails was a BSA Gold Star or 441 Victor. The old Matchless thumpers were great too.
Now days the 250 4 strokes are a lot more reliable than the old bikes I am talking about as long as you change the oil frequently and keep on maintenance and don't operate them like 2 strokes.
for my tastes, I would stay with a large 2 stroke for lightness and ease of repair.
