how can i get a great shot with a canon rebel at a grammy benefit please help?
i got invited to this event on red carpet, my friend is a journalist and he asked me to take pictures like paparazzi, i have a canon rebel xti with the basic kit lens, and just my camera flash, this was last minute and i would like some pointers on how i can get a great shot with what i have to work with, im not sure if its going to be inside or outside, but i would like some tips for all occasions, thanks!!
You know, if it really is full of paparazzi, I would try shooting some photos without the flash. There should be so much light from the other cameras that you won't need to add any more. If you try this, put the camera in burst mode and see what you can get.
If there isn't a ton of light from other flashes or lights on stands, then you'll need to use your flash. Maximize the flash output, too, as you likely won't get close enough. The problem is you'll have to wait between shots while the flash recharges.
Either way, I would suggest just using the automatic portrait setting.
