Golf Swing Power - How To Generate The Power For Unbelievably Long 300 Yard Drives!
Imagine for a moment being able to generate power that the professionals do. Wouldn't it be incredible if you could make 300 yard drives! The good news is, it's possible for anyone, all you need to do is generate the swing power. When you see the professionals tee off they don't appear to be using any strength at all and yet the ball goes incredibly far. When most amateurs try and hit the ball they use their strength in an effort to muscle the ball down the fairway.
For a long time I made this very mistake even though I knew that strength wasn't the answer. At the driving range I would soon lose my concentration and before I knew it I will be trying to use all the strength I had to get those few extra yards.
The truth is you don't need muscle, you just need a way of generating swing power. The first thing you need to do is use a wider stance. A wide stance helps you to generate the swing power necessary. You should also try to remain relaxed. If you have any tension in your body you won't be able to obtain the distances that you want.
A strong grip is also necessary. Even though you have a strong grip on the club, your arms should remain relaxed.Its easier said than done but it's something that is essential when trying to hit log distances.
The most important thing is to swing with a wide arc. At the top of your backswing you're right hand should be as high as possible it without affecting your stance. It's simple physics that if you swing with a wider arc you can create the extra clubhead speed and torque that will propel a golf ball over 300 yards.
