How To Build A Facebook Profile That Generates Leads Everyday
I bet you didn't know that Facebook gets about the same amount of visitors that Google gets everyday? And if you think that Facebook is just for teeny-poppers...think again! It has become one of the best places on the net to build your online presence, generate leads, get to know other people in your field and begin to build a personal brand for yourself online so more people trust you and your business. Facebook is an amazing tool to help you build your business, but you have to learn to set up you profile correctly. Lets walk you through making a solid profile that generates leads, and remember to keep it fun! Here are your steps to get started:
- Sign up for Facebook with your personal info: Go To Facebook.com, put in an email and a password, fill out your bday and click sign up and follow the instructions. They will send you an email to have you click a confirmation link. You will be taken to a page that will allow you to find your friends on Facebook by using your email contacts. Just enter in your email and it will search for them for you. I highly reccomend not skipping this step. The next step will be to fill in the school you went to. This will allow you to find even more people. After that you can put in any previous companies you worked for so you can find any co-workers. Based on the info you entered it will then bring the people they found, then just go ahead and request them and send a "hello message". Telling them who you are, just in case they might not remember you.
- Update your profile with personal features: After adding your initial contacts you'll be taken to your blank profile. On the top of your profile you'll see the question "What are you doing right now?" This space is used to update all your friends on anything you want. First click on your profile picture and upload it. Then go to the information tab and fill it all out, remember the purpose of your account. After that insert your website links. Go to edit your contact information. Add in your landing pages, blogs, social media sites ect... Then Click Save. Now edit the Basic information, personal information and education and work tabs. The most important of these sections is the personal information section. Make it really genuine, this is what is going to sell people on you being an actual person. The more real you seem, the more they'll want to work with you.
- Add Friends who are in your target market: Go to The Friends Tab at the top of the page. This will allow you to enter emails and send messages to them that will invite them to join you on your profile. Then Go back up to the top header and choose the Find Friends option. Facebook will show you people you may know that know people you know. Choose these people or "X" them and more will pop up. The third option is searching down below on this page by people's names. One other effective way is to find people who are in your industry who are leaders and add them as friends and a few of the people they have as friends. This will build you a solid base!
Here are some important rules to remember with your Facebook Profile:
- You will never be able to have more than one personal profile so keep yours really clean and authentic.
- If your going to go around adding people you don't know, make sure to write a personal note with the request on why your requesting them and where you found them.
- Join some groups that share your interests, they will expose you to more people.
- If you already see yourself as a leader, start your own group, it will add to your credibility.
- It will take alot of time and effort to build an effective Facebook profile so don't shortcut anything. Add lots of pic, and info about you as a person and your interests.
- Remember to keep your profile page only about yourself as "person" not all about your business, but have your business links up.
- People will allow you to be friends with them more often if you have a very "personal" profile. Remember, you want to attract genuine people not the "business spammer".
- Your profile is where people will get to know you before they decide to do business with you, so relate to them the best you can.
- Find free applications that will allow you to connect all your social media sites into one. This way you only have to update one website.

Remember be authentic and don't sell, your main purpose is to attract people to you with the way you live your life. Generating leads will eventually come out of that, but not until they trust you.
