How to get your parents to be enthusiastic and/or even ask you if you want to act in Film?
Hey, i'm 12 years old. I have been acting in community theater for 3 years and I love it a lot. This year i'm doing T.V. Studios, and every time I am the Talent(Actor). I have done all the research that I need to know about from It's not gonna happen if all you want is Fame, which is not what it's about, just my passion and I love it, to moving to hollywood with your headshot and resume. I have done 8 plays and 3 movie productions for my school. I think I have enough experience (Since there are no acting classes around my area, I watched all of the Uta Hagen Classes on youtube). I have brought up the idea of acting for commercials and t.v. shows, but they didn't seem to siked about it, and sort of shrugged it aside. I told my sister about my dream and said its never gonna happen. I was wondering if there was any way my parents could somehow get really enthusiastic about it and fully support me. Thanks a whole bunch!
Hey, I Have a similar problem with my dad. I really want to go to a performing arts high school but he doesn`t want me to. So i made a deal with him. I have to get Straight As on my next report card. And you know what, i have been working my but off ever since! You just gotta show them that this is what you want to do and it`s just not a something your going to give up on. If you have to, tell your parents you want to go to a open-call audition (By the way those you can go to even without experience) for your birthday, do what you have to do to show them you`ll stick to it!
